Looks like a rather nasty cast copy IMO.

          Thank you skip...

I appreciate you opinion. I am concerned about the metal around the pin anchor. I am sorry about the rough images; these were sent to me as I am considering this badge for purchase.

          Any others?

          Cheers!

            Hi Michael,

I can only agree with Skip, stay away from that badge.

              Thank you Philippe...

You affirmation is a great help. The R.S. seems ok; it's the molding flaws that concern me; would you agree?

Does anyone have an RS Badge to compare?

              Cheers!

                Michael,

If you want to learn about UBoot badge have a look at this great site from our very own Gordon Williamson:

                  Thank you Skip!

                  I will stop at that site for a look. Here is a post I discovered that makes me wonder if the casting points for the catch are prone to sloppiness;

                    Wow!

That was an informative site Skip; I think I see your point. This Badge is interesting regarding its detail. The R. S. looks ok to me. Perhaps I am too wishful...these photos don't help much as they are unclear.

Here was another post I found. Notice the pin holder spilling...

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33860&highlight=RS''

I am seeking some additional photos any others who hold an RS Badge?

                    Respectfully,

Hi all, to my knowledge R.S u-boat awards are not noted for the professional reverse look. It is very hard to tell with pics like these and yet it does not cry out fake. Saying that i dont like the eagles head, no proper look at the hinge, and would not buy on pictures like these.Hope this is of some help.

Thank you mrg; your observations are appreciated. I have requested a better photo of the hinge. I think this will be most telling...

                        Cheers!
