    Cut out coastal artillery badge

Sadly not a physical one but spotted this photo on the web- belongs to cimilitaria so is their copyright and will remove if requested. Not sure if this one has been shown here before but this sailor appears to be wearing a badge with the section below the gun cut out.

I thought it was interesting as I have never ever seen this on a navy badge- only panzers that I can recall.

What a great photo,i love it.

I'm inclined to think that the CA award is not cut out but possibly a zinc Juncker with the blackened area below the gun housing ?

Of more interest to me is the wearing of the Marinefrontspange in this photo,it looks great.

A very rare photo of the MFS in wear.

    Regards,Martin.

I agree with Martin. Not cut out but a nice zinc badge with the blackened ground finish intact. And a great photo!

        Best regards,

Whoa, bad news. I enlarged the photo on my screen and it's a fake. Clear signs of Photoshopping:
          1) cloned areas from using the cloning stamp
          2) a black outline around all the awards.

          Best regards,
          ---Norm

            Excellent detective work Norm.

If this is the case then it really is a shame.

            Regards,Martin.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                    Yes, great work Norm
Here is my Juncker CAB with with blackened ground on the obverse and main pin which is typical for these zincers.
                    Cheers,
                    Hubert
