Has to be a fake RS&S High Seas

I have looked at a bunch of threads & pics, mine has to be a fake...i think
Just wasn't sure so I decided to post a few pics. I have purchased a few items from this local dealer before without issue but this one has me concerned. I emailed him and received this response:

"The way you determine whether a Hi Seas badge is original or not is by looking at the windows on the bridge, originals have 5 windows, fakes have 4. One cannot go by the hardware on the badges to determine originality, in some cases you can, but in many others you can't, what happened was that the German decorations firms quite often farmed-out the hardware to other firms, and-or bought rear hardware from other firms when their supplies ran out. So exchanges of pins & catches etc., between firms happened a lot."

Didn't spend much but if it is a fake, l learned a lot reading up on it.
Hope the pics work and thanks for your time!

      Hi,
This Dealer statement is a mixture of certain falsehood and manipulated half-truths. There is no way original unrepaired RSS HSF could exist without the ball hinge. On the other hand fakes of that particullar badge with wrong hardware are very common.
      Cheers,
      Hubert

Obviously this guy is not familiar with certain Schwerin Fleet badges.

I can see no images either.

Yes, indeed. A common older fake. There have been many posted here over the years if you do a forum search.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm
