Opinions Needed - U Boat Pin

Looking for opinions on this U Boat pin. Is it original?

    Thanks!

      Hi Ken,

Looks like a very nice zinc Steinhauer & Lück U-Boat badge. We would need to see a sharper straight-on view of the obverse to tell whether it's the less common variant UC# 1.2.4 or the somewhat more common UC# 1.2.5. Could you also show a closeup of the catch?

      Best regards,
      ---Norm

Norms right the catch needs to be seen clearly.

                  Hi Ken,

Thanks for the closeups of the catch. Now we can see it's a more common variant, UC# 1.2.7. Still a nice S&L zincer.

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

Here is the same variant of S&L u-boat, ground dug in Poland, proving that particular type was made during wartime.
                    Cheers,
                    Hubert

Now, with images. For some reason I could not add them from my mobile phone.
                      Cheers,

Here is another interesting ground dug find from Poland - zinc 1st pattern Rettenmaier S-boot badge. As far as I could remember, both badges u-boat and s-boot were found by the same person.
                        Cheers,
                        Hubert
