    Hi,

as I am not very much familiar with all different kind of badges, this FO badge for your review.
It does not match the types as for a type 3 the FO mark is too low ?

    Your input most welcomed

    Thank you
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

Nice interesting badge. I think it's transitional between the "Type 1" and the "Type 2", i.e. between UC# 5.6.1 and 5.6.2. The maker mark looks like the Type 1 but usually there's no "o" stamp in these as is typical in the "Type 2", so I'd call it a Type 1 with the unusual and interesting addition of the "o" stamp.

Having said that, it might just be a low-lying "Type 2" maker mark whith is a bit distorted by the corrosion and the angle of the photo?

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

Staring at it more and more (without my Photoshop!) I think it is just a low-lying "Type 2". Anyway, nice original badge.

      Best regards,

Does the low-lying type 2 indicates a different set of dies?

                Hi Christian,

I suspect it was just a lower positioning of the reverse die. Similarly, we often see such variability in the location of the mark on the Schwerin Minesweeper.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm
