    Mine Sweeper and Coastal Artillery

    Hello Guys,

Could people please give the opinions on the originality of these badges and any possible hint at a maker if period?

Cheers Adam ( If you ever need help on British medals I am always happy to help!)

            Hi Adam,

            Both original zincers.

The unmarked Minesweeper is made in Gablonz and most often attributed to Adolf Scholze on the basis of similarities to the "AS in triangle" marked badges. (More on that in this thread.)

The Marine Artillery badge is marked for Hermann Aurich, Dresden. There are some good reproductions of this badge but that one is original and has the typical finish.

            Best regards,
            ---Norm

                Hi Adam,

I can only agree with Norm, both look fine to me as well.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I agree with Norm and Tom D. Both are nice, un-messed with originals.

                  Best regards,
                  Tom

I forgot to mention one important detail though. The Minesweeper looks like the swastika has been ground down and partially de-nazified.

                    Best regards,
                    ---Norm

I agree with previous comments, pity about repaired swaz on minesweeper.
                      Cheers,
                      Hubert
