    Badges for verification

    Hi.

I have posted some of these badges already I think, in seperat posts for your opinions on them, but I have desided to sell/trade them and thought I would make it easier for myself and others to just have one post that I need to link to. I hope this is ok by the moderators.

Could I please get your opinions on these badges?
    Aux badge - Junker
    Aux badge - R.S
    Destroyer - Schwerin
    Minesweeper - R.K
    Flotten - Schwerin

    Thank you.

If any of you wants to trade, please look at my wanted post: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=779530

I'm trying to complete my Schwerin badge collection.

    Best regards,
    André

I haven't studied RS badges, so I can't comment on it, but all the others look good to me.

                Hi,
                All badges look original
RS AC has wartime compatible construction but the finish may indicate postwar production. I personaly prefer RS ACs with gilded reverse as on my worn badge, which have a better chance to be wartime.
                Cheers,
                Hubert

I am not keen on the Souval aux badge to be honest.

                  Regards,

                    Hi André,

Could you show some closeups of the catch and the hinge with the pin up on your RS zincer?

The very same badge was discussed briefly six months ago here:
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...05#post6544005
It was given a "conditional thumbs up" at that time but I do agree with Daniel and Hubert that it's not classic for wartime production and I'd like to see more details.

I think it's likely the same type seen here:
                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...98#post6046198
                    and here:

                    ---Norm

Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate it!

Here are some more pics of the R.S Aux badge. I will take some more pics tomorrow if needed.

                      Best regards,
                      André

This is the last pic that I have for the moment and I can see that I need to take a few more pics for you to look at as these pics are really not that good.

                          Hi André,

I reiterate what I said above -- it's the same "vintage" as the two examples in those links. In my opinion, likely a good quality post-war finished Souval before they ran out of wartime leftovers.

                          Best regards,
                          ---Norm

Really interesting reading Norm. Thanks for posting the links.
I also think it's a souval '66 badge. after reading the therads

Did souval use war time parts to assembled a badge that they produced in 1966, did they make a complete new badge in '66 or was it just the gilding that was done in '66?

The sad part is that I do not have a war-time made badge, but the best part is that I have learned something new about souval badges.

I just can't stop thinking about how the marked would be if it wasn't for you guys. You are all doing an awesome job by studying these badges and sharing your knowledge. Thanks guys!

Hard to know for sure, but I suspect badges of this type are a combination of some completely wartime-made but post-war filed, gilded and silvered pieces along with some post-war assembly of leftover planchets and hardware. I suspect the totally post-war made planchets are just the ones without the R.S. mark in the reverse die. It all depends on whether you believe Souval used his R.S. reverse dies that late in the game and there's no clear answer to that at present.

Since you already have wartime Juncker and Schwerin Auxiliary Cruisers, I don't think you're hurting too much there.
