Do you know S-boat badges from Meybauer, Hymmen or Beco?
Sven, as far ad 2nd pattern S-boots are concerned I still miss B.H. Mayer and Rettenmaier

        Enjoy!

First is 2nd pattern S-boot marked AS in triangle, concave reverse variation. S-boots by this maker are known to retain finish very well over time and mine is good example of that
Has this AS maker already been identified?

          Hi glaser,

All we know for sure is Adolf Scholze was involved in "AS in triangle", either as the maker himself or as a principal member of a consortium. This was determined by Pavel S. in Gablonz who found ground dug "AS in triangle" badges along with Schwerin 2nd pattern U-Boat clasps and W&L wound badges, all manufactured with the same crimping technique, while at the same time finding Scholze's wartime accounting books which listed Schwerin and W&L as major customers -- a neat bit of detective work.

          Best regards,
          ---Norm

Since I already had a dished back variant I could take a group shot and compare both badges. Interestingly they have different maker's marks and their location on the reverse also differs - maker's mark on the flat back type is positioned higher than on the dished back type.
                          Cheers,

Here is the comparison of the maker's marks on both S-boots. Interesting thing is that they look virtually the same as type 1 and type 2 maker's marks seen on the AS Minesweepers. On the second image there is a comparison of AS Minesweeper maker's marks prepared by Norm some time ago.
                            Cheers,

Sorry, I should call the other one scooped back rather than dished back. Here is the image better showing the concavity on the reverse.

You almost need a More parallel shot to see the depression in the back. Nice examples.
