Let me show you my last and the finnest catch of 2014 - unmarked tombak Hymmen U-boat badge, type 3.1.2 in the Classification system Very rare bugger It features small block hinge, round wire pin and stamped sheet metal catch typical for this maker. Condition is just amazing! The thick gilt is 100% intact and it has prettily polished swaz and other highlights like on later tombak Schwerins. These crude scans really do not do it a justice!

I was really lucky to get it, it's by far my nicest u-boat bagde, I'll try to shoot it with a photo camera when I have a spare time since these scans are horrible! You cannot see the shinning polished highlights on them and the gilt looks dull while it is frosted in hand.

Here is a recent addition to my U-boat fleet from November Kassel show - very nice u-boat clasp in bronze

it is hand vaulted by the sailor and in the proces of vaulting the maker's mark was hammered flat unfortunately, anyway on the obverse it looks almost unworn.
Now I see that I have to scan it again in higher resolution.
