My new Destroyer badge by GWL. Any doubts about authenticity?

    Thanks!

Nice badge. GWL badges seemed to have really held their finish well over the years and is one of my favorite makers of the destroyer badge. I wish they had done more KM badges.

                  Hi JAndrew,

I'd just add that we don't even if know if G.W.L. made their own Destroyer badge. There seems to have been a working relationship with Deumer on this badge (who made all 3 early KM badges in Tombak) and we can't tell exactly how that relationship applied in this case. As discussed in other threads, aside from the double-striking and the stamped in "G.W.L." mark, production characteristics are identical to the Deumer marked Minesweepers.

It's also possible that the G.W.L. late war zinc U-Boats were a collaborative effort with a Gablonz firm considering the similarity to the R.K. U-Boat (noted here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...62#post6223462)

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm
