This IMO drasticly reduces the chances of this being an original badge. I only know of one U-Boat badge (GWL) featuring a cast in hinge and catch, and the badge you posted for sure isn't a GWL. But like I wrote above without better pics there isn't much more to tell.

I am wrong, the hinge is soldered, not a integral part.Sorry.
