    Bakelit (?) Kriegsmarine- badges

Got these odd badges some days before, the material seems bakelit or any other synthetic material. Does anybody have seen something like this before?

    thanks,
    Stefan

Assuming they are from the TR era, my guess would be that they were intended to go on a wood plaque.

          thanks fred!

btw, the measurements are 1:1 to their metallic counterparts!

To me these look like modern resin castings from RTV molds. I make them all the time for my model displays. There is an Italian company (Orion?) that does this commercially for many military awards from different countries in several sizes. For example, I have their tank assault badge for my panzer displays that are 6 x 9 inches.

The minesweepers look to still have part of the Karneth RK markings on their reverse.

                Hi Guys,

Another way you can tell these are not wartime Bakelite castings is that the Marine-Frontspange is cast from a '57-era design. They were never that detailed in the onboard fabrications.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm

Only if they're trying to be passed off as genuine. As copies for part of say a model display I think they're great

I agree! Modern castings in resin. And the paint looks like acrylic or enamels used for plastic models.
