    U-Boat Badge by Schwerin

    Hello all!

    Gentlemen, in my opinion this worn U-Boat looks good.
    But for complete confidence I ask your opinion.

    I agree, a nice early Tombak Schwerin, UC# 1.1.1 in the recent classification.

          I agree, very nice The makers mark looks a bit different than standard marking on that variant.

              Hi Hubert,

              I've given this issue some thought in the past.

              They're actually the same stamp but the hand tool is applied with different force and depth. Some of the early Schwerins are very lightly stamped so that the font looks quite fine whereas with the deeper impact the words come out much thicker. The position of the stamp on the reverse of the badge varies as well, but overall the scale is the same.
