I'm a little worried based on just this pic. Obviously a pic of the back will be the clincher for either or .

See post #23 in this Thread. The bridge windows look frighteningly similar. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=101993

Look forward to a back pic.

I see what your saying now about the Windows. They do look it a little off. They kind if stagger a little dont they? I see it on the left side, is that what you are referring too?

I kind of like the Coastal Artillery and Destroyer (based on the front pics only) even if they both have the same quality of gilding and surface wear to the highlights on the wreaths

The windows on the HSF look the same as the one in the Thread in that they are very weak from left to right and then BAM - the fifth window is deep and pronounced. This is almost identical to the R.S. & S. in Post #23.

As I thought on the HSF. It's a dead match to the one in the Fakes Gallery (link posted earlier).

The Coastal Artillery is a fake as well. Here is a Thread on these explaining that ShuCo did not make the KM CA Badge. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...stal+artillery

It appears the Destroyer is also a fake. Here's a Thread on this one: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=fo+destroyer

                  Sorry mate

I agree with the above comments.

The fleet badge is a definate fake and of a type that has been discussed here before.

Imo the Destroyer and the CA badges are also postwar reproductions, and as mentioned by Bob,SHuCo did not make CA awards,as far as we know.

                    Regards,Martin.

These 3 fakes started appearing at about the same time from all the wrong sellers. Most likely all were made by the same faker.

                          Regards
                          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

                            Hi Kasoh,

You're in a better position to say, but it's always possible your guy didn't know he had fakes. Although easy to spot for the experienced collectors on this forum, no doubt there are many inexperienced collectors and amateur dealers out there who have been taken in by these over the years.

As Mike says, these badges are all from the same faker many years ago (same production values, same catches, etc.) so it seems likely your contact probably acquired them all together at some point.

                            Best regards,
                            ---Norm

(I've uploaded your images from the host server so they're not lost to the thread later on.)
