Actually it is a silver cord.

The hat is Km Administrative.

Bullion Insignia and cord has mellowed through the years.

Hi JAndrew,

That's not "wear". The badge on that plaque isn't an actual badge but rather appears to be a casting from a Schwerin, professionally created and attached to the plaque with those wing tabs seen on the back. I presume the breast eagle was duplicated in the same manner, all to make a nice presentation plaque I suppose.

But why does it say "AU" on the reverse? A person's name? It means "meadow" in German. I guess we'll never know the full story behind this item??
