    Blockade Runner Badge?

Hello Friends. This Blockade Runner Badge just arrived. It has all the characteristics of a C. Schwerin & Sohn badge except it does not have the name on the back. Looking for some help on this one. Please let me know what you think. Much Appreciated.

Looks like a heavily cleaned and repaired, dish back Schwerin to me.

Thank you. That is what I also believe.

                An interesting badge.

IMO,it looks like an original unmarked tombak Schwerin of the dishback type with a repaired catch.

I say tombak because i think we can see traces of the tombak basemetal in the reverse images on the photo's provided in posts 1 & 2 ?

I think we have a good one here.

                Regards,Martin.

I agree, except not so much an unmarked badge as a "de-marked" badge. The maker mark has been ground off before re-soldering the catch. Someone really didn't like corporate advertising...

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

Could be the case here Norm, although i am inclined to think this is still an unmarked example unless better and more detailed images can prove otherwise.

The finish on the reverse looks pretty uniform to me.I would expect to see traces of the exposed basemetal where the maker mark was filed down ?

                        Cheers,Martin.

We have not seen an unmarked variant so far have we? Anyway, original but repaired tombak Schwerin BR
                          Cheers,

                            Ditto and.

Agree, an original early Schwerin in Tombak with a catch repair and filed down reverse.
