Hi Christian,

Thanks for posting the closeups. That's interesting that the pin is non-ferrous. Based on your photos, my opinion is that Tom's initial observation is correct and that the hinge has been very skilfully replaced. You can see that the margin of the upper crimp shows a line of neat solder in contrast to the margin of the lower crimp, and as mentioned earlier the replacement hinge flanges aren't as wide as usual which probably made it easier to slip into place during the procedure. It was expertly done and makes a nice badge for display.
