WOW! Nice looking badge. I don't see the flaw we like to look at with these but that could be the photo or maybe an early "pre flaw" strike? At any rate the finish is beautiful and I love all the silver frosting remaining on the boat. I don't think I have ever seen a fake reproduce that frosted silver finish. I think this is probably in the top 5 best type 1 Schwerins I have seen. Thanks for sharing.

"Darn, and I was thinking of you taking over from me"
I'm afraid that with me they would just be getting the "moron" part and that would never do.
I have no idea what to say about the document. I have seen them from high hundreds to a couple grand depending on rank, signitures, unit, date, etc. Obviously I am not much of a document guy.
My question would be if this document is with the badge? If so, a killer set!
Awesome badge John
Document too
Someone had one for sale a while back but I forget the site? I would think a nice document like that would go for 600-1000 dollars?

John,
I am not sure that this is Petersen's signature. To me the date looks like 3 Juli 1941 and Petersen did not take command of the Torpedoboote until Oct. 1941. I think at this point he was still ijn command of the 2 Sboot flotilla which this person seemed to be a member of. I will try to attach an award document with his signature. I am not sure who the commnader of Torpedoboote was before him as I am not at home with my books.
