    Tombak Schwerin HSF

Hi guys, I picked up this tombak Schwerin HSF yesterday at one of the bigger fairs in the UK. It has wear to the ship as it is so concave to the reverse which pushes the ship out proud to the rest of the badge. The majority of the gilt is still present to the wreath but is hard to present in the photos. The dagger was also a pick up, an early Eickhorn to go with an early badge.
    Cheers - Greg

      Hello Greg,

Congratulations on the really nice finds. The badge looks great and so does the dagger.

      Best regards,

        Hi Greg,

Tom has said it all. Nice items!

I know it's the badge forum but can we see more of your nice etched officer's ceremonial dagger? It nicely complements any collection.

        Here's my plain blade example:

          Hi Greg,
Great find! Your Schwerin HSF is very nice and shows a lot of character which I like
Here is same variant from my drawer.
          Cheers,
          Hubert

and I agree that KM badges go very well with KM daggers
Here are images of some of my brothers KM and RM daggers.
            Cheers,
            Hubert

Hi Hubert, yours is mint as we would expect from your great collection!
Norm here are some pics of the dagger, although I am a badges man I think every KM collection should have a dagger in there as well
              Cheers - Greg

Wonderful dagger with just the right amount of wear and great character.

Whereas I'm partial to mint badges, I think it's preferable for a dagger to show nice wear, especially since the big dagger companies continued on in business to the present day and it's so easy to assemble leftover parts.

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

Hi Norm, many thanks, I agree that a dagger should have some signs of wear but I'm also partial to have a little honest wear to my badges as well.
                    Cheers - Greg

Oh, I agree about the badges as well. I like both mint and worn with character.

                      Best regards,
