            Hi Ed,
            - nice Schickle zinc U-boat badge, pity about the broken catch;
            - original heavily worn zinc RK minesweeper with damaged hardware;
            - original but postwar zinc S&L AC badge, at least the globe is postwar.
            Cheers,
            Hubert

              Thanks, Hubert, so the globe is post war added to the badge? That's odd. Ed

                Hi Ed,
                This is so called type 2 globe, which is postwar without any doubt, so is the rivet. Therefore it's postwar assembled award from wartime leftover wreath and postwar globe at best or simply completely postwar made award. We cannot be sure about the wreath since wartime and postwar wreaths were virtualy the same. Let's wait what others say.
                Cheers,
                Hubert

                  That helps greatly and will prevent a return from a buyer...Another decorator badge for the dead pile.

                    Hi Ed,

                    I agree with all of Hubert's comments. Nothing to add.

                    Best regards,
                    ---Norm

                      I think Hubert has "nailed it" down very well here in regards to this badge.

                      A period badge with a postwar globe and rivet,and assembled postwar.

                      The lack of gilding on the ship is also a good indication of postwar production by S&L.Here is one that i have with a similar reverse set up,but with no rivet.

                      Certainly not a badge for the "dead pile" if you collect HK awards.

                      I find these postwar pieces by S&L and Souval very interesting to study.

                      I have a few of these postwar badges by S&L.

                      Regards,Martin.
