Unmarked U-Boat badge - opinions please

Hi Guys,

I have this unmarked zinc U-Boat badge with brass or Tombak hook, hinge and pin. The catch is on a rectangular plate and opens to the right. I have no idea whether it is good or not, so I would be grateful for opinions.

I have a mm L/56 (F&B L) U-Boat badge and found these threads on WAF regarding a 'die flaw' method of ID for this manufacturer; unfortunately those photos on the threads have 'disappeared', but see my homemade pdf attachment iro this die flaw.

The eagle's right wing on your badge has this 'blip/blob'

Hubert, and other experts, will be able to confirm this method.

Agree, the unmarked Funcke and Bruninghaus--we called this variation 2 and it is on page 156 of the Kriegsmarine Awards (English).
