    FLL43 Coastal Artillery

Hi guys, this is my recent FLL 43 Coastal Artillery acquisition. The hinge and catch both are sloppily soldered as seems to be the case with these badges.
    Cheers - Greg

Greg, it´s a nice and unrepaired badge. I have the same bad soldering job on mine example also.

I agree, original and unmessed with - just sloppy soldering.

Remember Greg, the soldering is typical for this badge. Reverse of mine here.

Cheers fellas, I guess that the work experience lad was in charge of soldering these badges!
              Best regards - Greg

                Hi Greg,

Nice example, and I can only agree with the others that the soldering is perfectly original IMO. Sloppy soldering is a signature of FLL badges, you can see it all the time on their CCCs and Luftwaffe badges.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Hello Greg,

                  Looks like a nice badge.

Here is an example that I have owned for a long time. It also has a sloppy soldering job for the catch. This one has a slightly different sheet metal hinge than yours does: It has a straight base while your hinge has an arced base.

                  Best regards,
                  Tom

I decided to give my FLL Coastal Artillery a quick cleaning. I haven't had this one out in years and thought it was looking a bit grungy. I sprayed it down with oil and let it soak in a bit, after which I washed it in soapy water, rinsed it, and then blow-dried it. I think it looks a little nicer now.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom
