Hi Pat,

100% original Schwerin flatback zincer. No immediate problems apparent, although an oblique shot of the catch may be useful to ensure there's no repair (that vertical oval effect above and below the catch with different patina does not look quite right).

Does appear to be the genuine article. Congrats on acquiring a legitimate Schwerin Blockade Breaker IMO. There is of course a Reproduction of this award utilizing similar hardware and the same MM emplacement on the reverse that's made to deceive. Looks like you're Batting with a High Average pdawg.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the additional pics. Definitely no probelms with the hinge but there does appear to be some post-manufacture ?solder covering the base of thre catch. Maybe an old repair for the original catch? If so, it's very neat and does not really detract.
