It looks like a very nice example of the flat-wire catch variant to me, aside from the damage to the tension foot of course. I would think that the damage occurred right at the beginning of its life since there's no "footprint" left in the maker maker mark, which may also account for the fact it's never been worn?
The main pin seems a tad shorter than usual but I think that's an illusion created by a bend in the right half of it which makes it appear shorter.
