I agree with the others - a good wartime-compatible Souval. Can you show a closeup of the catch or comment on it's shape? I'm wondering if it's the "?-shaped" variant or if it's the usual "c-shaped" round-wire catch?

Hi Chasseuràcheval,

Thanks for the additional view. It's precisely the same "question mark"-shaped catch as on my Minesweeper. I believe this catch is soldered to a small round catch plate which is buried in solder within a raised circular outline on the reverse of the badge.
