Kriegsmarine Honor Roll Clasp (Ehrenblatt Spange)

I am pleased to show here a recently-acquired mint example of the above-referenced award. This is the third such piece that I have had the pleasure to own in my many years of collecting. The first two, which have since found good homes with fellow WAF members, can be seen in the following two threads:

    Post # 19 here:

    and in this thread:

As with my two previous examples, this latest acquisition bears all of the accepted features confirming it to be a genuine, period original in a single-hinged case. Also, as with the others, I have not removed the clasp from the card upon which it is mounted. However, by holding the ribbon away from the card it is possible to note that there are four round, pointed needle retaining pins with a serrated effect at the bend point. The fire-gilting with burnished highlights is as perfect as the day it left the factory and, in fact, looks even better in-hand than in these pictures.

I hope that you enjoy viewing this thread and this beautiful clasp.

    Regards,

    John

That is just a stunning example. You have been very fortunate to have owned so many of these over the years. Thank you for sharing these images with us.

                Hi John,
What a great clasp-you sure can find them. I wonder where the first two you had ended up at?

Thanks very much for the comments, guys. I do consider myself quite fortunate to have over the years acquired three of these. This one came to me as part of a long-time, personal collection which I recently purchased and of which I have been vetting a few items here on the Forum lately. But no need to vet this one...it's every bit as period original and beautiful as the other two.

                  Thanks again,

                  John
