The badge is a definite reproduction and I am guessing the packet is bad too.

woow thats a very realistic one... would really have thought good.
The packet actually did not come with this badge...

Is this a 100% id on a fake type or could some more pics and its weight be of use?

...definite reproduction... = 1000% fake.

Hardware is for a tombak badge, so incorrect basemetal. Alternately, if it's a zinc basemetal (that dark grey does not look TR anyway) then the hardware is incorrect. The maker mark is wrong. There are dozens of little features which are present on original badges that this fake lacks - refer to the pinned article.

I agree with Mike here.

This badge is a definate fake and a good one at that.I was fooled by a very similar looking badge as yours many years ago.

Mike has refered to his pinned article at the top of this page.

It gives a very detailed explanation of the features that we expect to see on an original badge by Schwerin.

Possible, but the packet did not come with this badge. I bought the packet with some original british naval medals. In Denmark. The badge where sold without promises in Germany... I thought it had a good chance.

Its possible its fake, but looks very much like other more commen packets I have.

Its where a mistake to post them in same thread, and should have stated it clearly.

The packet is probably a fake also. You can post it on the packets forum for confirmation. No problem posting the packet and badge here together, but we have commented on this packet often in the past.
