      Hi John,

The photos are a bit small and grainy which makes me nervous because Schwerin's are a target of good fakers. Having said that, so far it looks like a proper zinc "dish-back" variety Schwerin Blockade Breaker badge with one anomaly. There shouldn't be any white finish on the ship and the reverse as it appears here. Either it's been re-finished at some point (and worn off again) or the flash is lightening the look, but in the photo the finish on the ship seems to match the eagle which it shouldn't (arguing against the flash effect).

Here are a couple of BB's previously posted by Martin for comparison - Tombak on the left and zinc on the left.

      Best regards,
      ---Norm

          Hi John,

It is real, but more to the point it appears to be original.

Hard to say what's happening with the finish (aside from heavy wear) but I think the flash photography is causing he issue.

          Regards
          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I agree,i think this is an original zincer also.

Perhaps John could provide a set of images taken in natural light ?

            Regards,Martin.

                Hi John,

I think all the areas that I was thinking had white finish are really all just extensive zinc pest. Probably needs a fine coating of vaseline to preserve what's left.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm
