SHuCo Coastal Arty Badge for Review

    Hi fellow members,

Saw this beautiful badge on Marc's site, and it's real kind of him to put the badge on hold for me till it gets verify on the forum. Appreciate his generosity for letting me post his scans too. If this badge turns out bad lets no marked anyone down as we are keeping our minds open on this example. I know this is not the most common of examples and SHuCo Coastal Artillery badge can be quite problematic.

These are nicely made, but fakes.
          Cheers, Frank

            Hello Wunhur,

I do not believe that this badge is real. In my opinion this is a fairly convincing fake that flooded the market at about the same time as the 'f.o.' Destroyer Badge fake and the 'R.S.&S.' High Seas Fleet Badge fake. It is also my opinion that all three of these fakes originated from the same source.
            Best regards! Tom

I agree with Tom. It seems as this one and the Fo and RS&S, Tom
mentions all appeared on the market at about the same time. I think
it was about 12 years or so ago, if my memory serves me.
All three appear to be made of some kind of heavy type metal that
looks a bluish gray shade. I'm sure these well made fakes have fooled
many collectors. Sure fooled me early on.
