    Hi Mirco,

If this is a genuine badge, then it's a zinc Foerster & Barth that has been thoroughly stripped, with atypical hardware or the hardware replaced.

Interestingly, we can find the same reverse setup on the unmarked F&B-like Hilfskreuzer as well. Here's Martin's photos of his F&B next to his F&B-like badge with the same setup as your Minesweeper.

Could you please show some more closeups of the badge margins, the catch in profile, and the hinge with the pin up?

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

      Here are a couple of "F&B-like" U-Boats:
      1) The first has the same hinge and pin as the minesweeper but combined with a different catch.
      2) The second has a different hinge system but combined with a similar round-wire catch to the Minesweeper.

To date, we can't know for sure whether all these F&B-design badges with round-wire setups are true wartime F&B badges or some post-war assembly practice like what was going on in Lüdenscheid and Vienna.

      Best regards,
      ---Norm
