    Destroyer Badge authenticity?

Here's one that may have a chance? Or not. Comments appreciated.

    Hi Vaughn,

This is the rare Tombak Destroyer generally attributed to FLL, Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid. The early FLLs are all uncommon, and attribution is based upon a range of badges bearing similar hardware variations.

The silvered reverse on these is usually treated to a dark colour and I think your example has been heavily polished. The base metal on these is a lesser quality that tends to develop those small cracks.

Here's another from John T.'s site.

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

Norm, looks like this maker had an issue with the badge's stress cracking on the reverse. Appears to be similar cracks on both examples shown.
