Images are far from being sharp but it looks like original 'wartime compatible' Souval 2nd pattern S-boot badge There might be some repair of the catch but it's hard to see on these pictures.

I would agree with Hubert. IMO the catch is not consistent with a post war Souval piece and all the post war ones I have seen actually look much better than their war time production pieces!

This is a badge that i would consider to be of period construction by Souval,or at least what we consider to be "period Compatable",due to the reverse hardware.

Hard to say that the catch has been repaired,but more detailed images could perhaps confirm this.
