    Auxilliary Cruiser for review

    Hello Guy's,

This one came in a lot and it's an S&L. I saw there are a lot of fakes of this type and I can't make out what I have. Please give me your opinion.

    Regards Jim

    Hi Jim,

It depends on your definition of a "fake", but it's an example of what we consider to be a post-war assembled S&L from a combination of wartime leftovers and the post-war manufactured globe.

    Here's one very similar:

      Hello Norm,

Thanks for the link, i think the one shown in the other thread is exact the same badge as I have here, It came in a lot in Germany..... not from Scholz but it's for sure the badge posted here before.

So a weird badge, original base with post war attached globe, are these the first souvernir items of S&L?

      Regards Jim

          Hi Jim,

So it is! The same badge but the fake cardboard carton was ditched I guess.

Post-war souvenir vs. vet replacement piece -- hard to say what the motivations were (other than profit).

You said it came in a lot? What other things came with it?

          Best regards,
          ---Norm

              Hi,
              I agree, it's a post-war assembled S&L AC.
Schwerin Destroyer is original tombak 2nd type with replaced main pin.
              Cheers,
              Hubert

                Hi Jim,

So three unrelated items then. I agree with Hubert on the Destroyer, nice Schwerin with a replaced main pin which looks old.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm
