I just bought this Minesweeper Badge today at the Toledo Military Show. It shows a lot of wear but I think it still looks pretty nice.

As Tom indicated, it's a worn badge and I agree - I only see bare tombak with maybe the odd bit of gilding remaing in some recesses.

Tom, a nice honest example of a harder to find Minesweeper Badge! Even better, period hand "engraved" adds even more character. A nice addition.

I agree with Mike. Nice, heavily worn, "giltless" , personalized F.W. Assmann with lots of character and no doubt some interesting stories behind it if we only knew.

Nice badge,with "character".

Here is one of my favorite HK badges.A tombak Juncker worn or polished down to the basemetal with no sign of it's original finish on the wreath and ship.

But,like your Minesweeper this one also has a name scratched on the reverse and it is from a known ATLANTIS crewman.
