    U BOAT CLASP silver is it good or bad ?

    What’s your thoughts on this U-boat clasp in silver is it a keeper or junk?

    I am not to familiar with these clasps so any opinions would be most appreciated

                      Mark, I'm no expert but this looks like a keeper. The lettering is in line with known originals.

                        The cutout shape and the lettering is different enough to worry me. I do not think it is good.

                          I would not want this one either, the lettering is to straight and the "c" in Schwerin in to big.

                              Ok, I definitely stand corrected. When I finally got home and was able to compare the pictured badge with mine, I noticed significant differences in the lettering too. If a reproduction, it is a relatively good one. For some reason my computer will also not open all the images no matter how many times I refresh so I cannot see all of the pictures posted for a 100% comparison. Some of the letters do appear thicker on this example than the badge that I have. It also appears that the pin may be an issue at the point where it is connected to the hinge. The part that would come in contact with the badge appears to be too far from the hinge. Frank, in order that I might educate myself, is the part about the cutout that bothers you the flag as that is where I see the main difference?
