    Destroyer badge with blue water

    hello

here i have got a photo with a destroyer badge,
the maker is s.h.u.Co. on the backside.
Sorry i do not have a photo backsided!
I am sure it is a genuine one but i am not sure
if the blue coloured water is genuin too!
In whole for a zinc badge in a very good condition

    kind regards

    Hi burnout,

You need to get hold of a reverse pic. The obverse looks refinished to me. That could have been done to an original badge or it's simply a repro that's been painted.

I agree with Mike. I agree it looks refurbished and repainted to the ship and obviously the waves.

It does follow the design of this particular maker. IMHO, this wartime maker had one of the sloppiest designs especially along the upper gun decks and such.

I vote on the limited shots as a original badge with post war painting/refurbishment.

Hi, original Shuco zincer IMO but refinished and the catch is broken.
          Cheers,
          Hubert

The wreath, ship, and waves have all been repainted....IMO.

I agree, an original badge with the entire obverse refinished. Note that there appears to be gilt ON the waves above the wreath tie, and on the top of the silver ship's so the wreath was refinished after the ship/waves. The reverse looks OK - except for the aesthetics of the missing catch and weird blob in the catch region.
