    Auxiliary cruisers badge

    Hi,
Heres my latest addition this badge was returned from a stores in Kiel and is unissued compleate with it's celophane wrap which had stuck to the badge it's lost most of the plating and is not maker marked but as the rest of them from this lot were Fo marked i assume this is by the same maker.
    All the best Merdock

      Hi Merdock,

Are the other Fo marked badges that came with this one also AC's?

I would be surprised if this is an Fo AC. Fo's are one piece constructions and also feature a clearly different cut-out of the wreath. It would be nice I you would post a bigger obverse shot to see the details a little better.

            Hi,

It was just an assumption any ideas then as to maker,at 1st i thought they had been picked up in a factory but on seeing some more from the same haul today it must have been some sort of navy stores/distributor ,check out the blocade badge that i got from the same source today.

              Hi Merdock,

Looks like a Foester & Barth, although the pin, hinge and catch are way different on yours.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

A question to help me out:

Where has the little guy at the back of the boat gone?

                  Hi Angus

Not all AC's feature what you call "the little guy" which most likely represents the ships rudder.

If I recall correctly Juncker, Schwerin (most prominent) and RS show that feature but you won't find it on Fo and F&B Ac's

And in relation to the badge posted by Merdock I think Tom hit the nail on the head.

                    Thanks Philippe

I thought there would be something like that going on but wanted to make sure.

                    Regards,

                    Angus
