Destroyer badge from the POW camp

    Hello folks!!!

I would like to show you my destroyer badge made by shuco. The owner denazified the badge with a lot of patience and love.

Instead of eagle and swastika he stamped the number of the destroyer in the badge and the real name of the destroyer.

I hope you like it. Sorry for the blurry pics.

    Regards

    Thomas

      Hi Thomas,

Very interesting! Z6, Theodor Riedel. Here's a link with more info on the ship.
      http://www.bismarck-class.dk/german_destroyers/z6.html

Any more story about the badge and its origins?

      Best regards,
      ---Norm

        Sorry Norm!!!

No history, just bought from ebay. But I like it, it has a lot of charme and the owner had a lot of fantasy to create a "new" destroyer badge.

        Regards

        Thomas

          Thomas,
An interesting bit of history. Not the norm yet very special. Since this ship survived the war I would guess that this was done post war in a holding camp.

            Hi Thomas,
Very nice Shuco Destroyer I like the gilding on the reverse which is very flimsy and in most cases is gone on Destroyers by this maker.
            Cheers,
            hubert
