......I am wondering about part of the announcement concerning the sell off of the company Otto Schickle. It seems that perhaps the company wasn't sold, but only the Third Reich stock was.

The company Otto Schickle, Pforzheim, has received approval to bring to market their products in medals and decorations of the Third Reich which are still in stock

This seems to indicate that the company Otto Schickle, while having been forbidden to sell Third Reich items, didn't necessarily go out of business. The key part of the above is still in stock.

Yes, that's correct. It's known that Otto Schickle wasn't put out of business, but simply barred from further production of 3rd Reich era awards, and allowed to sell off his remaining stock that passed LDO inspection. I guess I didn't make that clear enough earlier in the thread.

Yesterday I found another badge which I was planning to keep for my collection.
It looks again like a Schickle badge, only this one is having a different catch.
