      Hi Kris,

      It's a Staegemeir copy.

      Best regards,
      ---Norm

I would agree that it is a reproduction...little doubt from the Stagemeir group of ciminals.

The details are a little soft on the front, and if I am not mistaken, I think most Souvals had a noticeable lacquer on the front under the gilding. I do not see any evidence of this here.

I have an original Souval Auxilary Crusier, and will try and get a photo of the lacquer I am talking about and post it.

I hope maybe that we are wrong for your sake, but I think most will say it is not good.

          Cheers,

          Glen

Despite the different catch attachment, it's classic Staegemeir in all the details and finish.

            Best regards,

                Definately a Staegemeir IMO.

Like many other of his KM badges it has that typical "blue" finish on the reverse.

Here is an example of a Souval badge that i consider to be of wartime production. It features a "blackened" globe, rectangular sheet metal hinge and a long needle pin that usually extends beyond the base of the badge.

                Regards,Martin.
