    Auxiliary Cruiser badge from auction

Here is another KM badge from the same auction. I posted many different KM badges of interest for an up and coming auction that was held on 18 Feb. Most of what I posted turned out to be fakes but a few got positive review from forum members and this was one. No marker mark and some of the members felt the hinge/pin/catch have been replaced. Maybe period. I love the badge and not a ton of money wrapped up in it.

Love to hear any and all feed back. Any guess as to the maker???

            Hi Andy,
I'd rather say it is S&L and looks like postwar assembled piece. Rivet is unfastened and I am not sure if the globe is wartime.
            Cheers,
            Hubert

I would also say that this is a postwar assembled badge by Steinhauer & Luck.

The badge itself looks period but the globe (type 2) is postwar and is the type that can be seen on the S&L 57ers.

The hinge, mainpin and catch are also considered to be period made parts by S&L but that "untrimmed" hollow rivet is a good indicator of postwar assembly IMO.

              Interesting badge.

              Regards,Martin.

                  Hi Andy,

the inverse tapered pin on these S&L's is very similar to that used by Foerster & Barth.
However, the F&B HK awards are of single piece, unrivetted construction.

                  Cheers,Martin.
