Hi Mike,
Original zinc S&L Blockade Runner. Can you post better image of the main pin since I suspect Tom's '57-scrape' on it which means the badge comes from S&L postwar production...
See this thread for more details: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ht=1957+scrape
Cheers,
Hubert
The S&L's with this setup are somewhat controversial and we really can't say for sure when they were made - late wartime or early post-war. While the classic "post-war scrape" as described by Tom Durante is often associated with post-war badges, a very similar deep linear cut is seen in the pins with this setup which is seen on quite a few of the badges from the eMedals Lüdenscheid boards which we've discussed so many time before.
These souvenir boards are said to date from the early post-war period in Lüdenscheid in 1945, and could contain a combination of wartime assembled and post-war assembled badges. The time periods are not well defined for this setup.

Hello Hubert,
I don´t know if new proof or knowledge came to light, but I think the subjunctive would be more in order. I would rather go with "might/could be an S&L postwar production", since we don´t have a definite proof for this. There is quite a large number of very experienced collectors who don´t agree with this theory and who consider these badges as perfectly fine wartime pieces.
