I agree, looks like 'original' zinc 1st pattern s-boot by controversial French maker - Bacqueville, Paris

I’m not able to say anything about the authenticity of this badge.
And as Hubert mentioned, Bacqueville is a very controversial French maker.
First of all, I don’t believe in this story and therefore wondering, if it would make sense to copy “a copy”.
BTW, quite a lot of interesting posts here about Bacqueville…

I should also mention that 'original' does not mean wartime in this case. By 'original' I mean corresponding to textbook pattern as there is a lot of modern copies of these early postwar badges. This is my opinion only.
            Cheers,
            Hubert

This looks like a copy of a Bacqueville.

I will post few examples considered to be good for comparison.

                      Hello Emmanuel

The badge you posted is a nice one, typical french construction.

                      Best regards

                      Eric

Also looks like a typical "original Bacqueville" to me, as opposed to a copy of the same. They're all hideous badges from an aesthetic point of view, and I remain eternally grateful that whichever French entrepreneur made these things didn't attempt to make a Minesweeper badge!

You can certainly see why no Kriegsmarine veteran ever owned one of these.

                        Best regards,
                        ---Norm

These bacqueville are not nice... but as said before, French didn't want to do their best...

                          regards
