    Are these things real? If so, does this one look like it might be authentic? I can get better pictures if necessary.

    Yes they are real. This one looks like a nice lightly worn genuine example - it looks like a steel badge with correct hardware to me. It's not KM though, it's Imperial.

      Here are the S&L and Assmann catalogs in the late 1930's showing the Imperial Navy Wound Badge. Judging from the catalog images I would think your badge is from some other maker.

          Can't see the difference

          Thanks guys. It is obvious that it is not an Assmann, but I cannot see the difference in the S&L. This is proving to be the hardest part of collectiing for me. I have great difficulty picking up on the nuances of the different makers. Where is difference?
