    HSF Schwerin Comparison...

    Hi guys,

I need a little help here. I hope I did not get paranoid over collecting...

Could you please compare these pictures for me and check if the badge on the photograph and the badge on the Scan are the same? Or are these not the same badges?

Please don´t look out for the obvious features, I want you to look really close!

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    Daniel

Nothing, I just thought the first might be original, and the second is a Staegemeir piece. But it looks like I´m wrong.

                  Hi Daniel,
                  Same badge, same fake IMO.
                  Cheers,

I hope Nordmark does'nt mind, I copied the pics and did some circling too, but there are some very small differences, unless it is camera/scan and lighting differences...
The gun barrels look flat in one pic, the front of the bow marks are long in one pic and dots int the other, the block above the windows looks framed in one and flat in the other.... if these are two different badges, someone took a LOOONG time to recreate the gold finish marks on the back, also not circled is the catch, one is twisted and bent more than the other... not sure, could be the pics

Same or no, both are fake?

                        Hi Chad,

I don´t know. The scanned badge with the lighter background looks good to me, though I´m pretty sure the photographed piece with the dark background is indeed a fake.

Maybe you guys are right and I´m totally paranoid...

                        Regards,

                        Daniel

So, just thinking out loud, if a badge is copied from an original, the copy would have the same features such as imperfections. However, I don't see the incentive to match the gold pattern exactly. So, I would agree, same badge are in both photos.

However, I find it scary how the white background makes it look good, but the black background makes it look like a staegermeier. To be honest, I'm not 100% convince its bad (unless you can see a tell that I missed), I'll have to think about this one for a bit.

                              Hi Guys,

I agree they're two photos of the same badge, but more to the point why is this being called a fake? Aside from the unusual cutouts around the gun barrels it looks right in every way. If this is a fake we're in trouble?

I look forward to Mike Kenny's observations and comments.

                              Best regards,
                              ---Norm
