I disagree. IMO that is an original early badge that has been polished to death. I have seen a number of real Schwerins that have that type of mark as opposed to the more common one in which the two lines are wider spaced. The letters do look a bit fat but the way that the two words 'Berlin' tail off at different angles is correct.
Also I never saw a fake that had the scooped middle characteristic of originals. The cutouts also look fine

I am sorry Chay, it seems I have been wrong on that one. The early form with scooped out reverse and different logo did not come to my mind today and what I thought was bad detail from a casting is indeed rubbed off details. Patrick is right, but just to be sure, let´s see the pin.
