    Uboat badge review

    I was looking for some input on these two uboat badges. The late was zinc I am sure is fine. The second is an unmarked Schwerin that I think is also good but wanted a seconf opinion.

              Hi Stephen,

              I agree with Daniel's comments - both original badges.

              The first one, the zinc "unmarked Funcke & Brueninghaus, Lüdenscheid" has been discussed a fair bit here, as we can't know whether they were all assembled pre-May 1945, but yours looks quite nice and the same as the one shown in this thread.

              The tombak Schwerin is the classic 2nd pattern, Type 4B in the Schwerin timeline thread.

                    The dark patches around the hinge (as well as the catch) on the Schwerin that you appear to be trying to show with great pain, are fine. This is just the reaction of the finish to the solder causing it to turn black.
