I posted this badge for sale last week and was told by several members that it is a fake. It is a S.H.u.Co. It weighs in at just over 32.5 grams, very similar to a known fake. My research was inconclusive. Did S.H.u.Co. make a Coastal Artillery Badge or not? Some sources say yes. And, if they did, is this one good or bad?

A SHuCo Coastal Artillery Badge with a laid down block hinge (generally indicating a tombak, or earlier badge) combined with a catch on a catchplate (generally indicating a later, or zinc alloy badge) is the easiest way to pick this fake. Combine the bad hardware with SHuCo not being a know maker of the Coastal Artillery Badge and the fact these badges first started appearing in the 90s along with the fake Fo Destroyer and RS&S HSF (from all the BAD sources), and they have no chance of becoming genuine with time. They are all nice looking fakes, but a fakes nonetheless.
