Just as a reminder, here's the Dekora die with the bizarre modern steel reverse die assembly (very unlike a typical wartime die set) and the reverse die with the maker mark ground off. This die set was first posted back in 2011 in this thread: http://forum.wehrmacht-awards.com/fo....php?p=4607840.

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

      Thanks Norm!
Very interesting, was that 'hoard find' located in Russia? Looks like Steagemeir ended up with large stocks of unsold round-s fakes and hence such miracles on the East, haha
      Cheers,
      Hubert

Actually, I don't know where the collection resides presently. It was said to come out of Germany but there are few details at present. We sure live in a global society when a fake die set shows up in the U.S., the badges from it in Germany and the discussion of them in Russia. Who knows what other countries could be involved?

        Best regards,
        ---Norm
