Hi sorry to say in my opinion and its just my opinion but I feel this award has been re-painted. The paint looks as if it has been heavily applied to hide the corrosion underneath to the extent that it hides the detail even for an R.S which was not noted for its quality. Looks like car paint or some form of heavy duty paint to me. just my thoughts. Regards

                  Hi,
Agree with Gary. Original Souval Destroyer but ship on the obverse looks roughly repainted.
                  Cheers,
                  Hubert

Usually it's the gold wreath that gets the makeover but in this case it's the ship alright. Wonder why?

For more discussion on this badge see the thread:
                      R.S. Destroyer on e-stand

                      Probably post-war production.

                      Best regards,

Yep, just found it in the archives and a similar bad twin to the other badge.

Believe it went on to the E-stand
